The Senate is debating the passage of a Bill that would Congressional voting rights to the District of Columbia. The District was created so that no one state would have too much influence over the Congress. The District is the exclusive province of the Congress and it is a federal city, it is our city, the nation's city. They have a voice through their Delegate and is able to vote in committee. It doesn't matter what Barbara Mukulski thinks. What matters is the Constitution of the United States of America. If you want to change the Constitution, than change the Constitution
Article I
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
Senator Tom Colburn has a solution to the "No taxation without representation chant." Get rid of the taxes, even though they receive more federal tax dollars per capita than any of the states.
