Limbaugh Lovers

The democrats are at it again. They are attempting to turn our base against itself, in a misguided attempt, to turn Rush Limbaugh against GOP leader Michael Steele. Clearly republican politicians are going to say that they want Obama to succeed, but secretly they want him to fail, but not economically. They want his social policies and political agenda to fail, save the "stimulus package."

President Obama represents a systemic shift in American political thought. He represents pan-westernism, equality of outcome, and free money i.e. tax cuts for non tax payers. While it is understandable that these are desirable goals, they are certainly not the province of government.

We must work to keep America free from dependency and insure our economic vitality.

Billions, no make that Trillions in Bailouts

We have allocated over a Trillion, yes that is trillion with a T, toward corporate bailouts. While individuals, much smarter than myself have order this Rx for our ailing economy we nevertheless must ask ourselves, is this what we need?

AIG is beyond saving and we should stop throwing bad money after an even worse investment. Prime Minister Gordon Brown wants us to nationalize our banks, how frightening. We need to preserve the institution that has allowed us to prosper, Capitalism. Capitalism today, capitalism tomorrow, Capitalism Forever!

Lower Merion Lincoln Day Dinner

No Bama No Socialism!

Prime Minister Gordon Brown proposed, at a press conference with the President of the United States, that the United States nationalize our banks! America stands for liberty, freedom, and capitalism. If we lose these virtues we are not only a nation of cowards, but a nation that has lost its moral compass.

WAC Republicans--CPAC Edition

The WC College Republicans are in The District for the next three days attending CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. We would like to thank the Goldstein Program in Public Affiars and the generosity of our private benefactors for making this event possible for us.

Fairness No More!

The Senate took a monumental step today in rejecting the revival of the Fairness Doctrine. The Fairness Doctrine, which was repelled in 1987, required broadcasters to give coverage to all sides of an issue. While this may appear to be a good idea in practice, it is actually an affront to the First Amendment.

The Doctrine has been shunned by conservative talk show hosts and pundits alike as a liberal affront to their right to transmit their views across the public airspace. If reenacted conservative talk radio would be eviscerated. The stations that broadcast Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingram, Michael Reagan, and Sean Hannity would also be required to carry the likes of Rachel Maddow and Al Franken, frightening!

The 11 Senators that voted against the bill are a whose who of the American left, 11 in total:

Kerry, Harkin, Feinstein, Dorgan, Conrad, Johnson, Reed, Rockerfeller, Sanders(the only self-proclaimed socialist in the Senate), and Whitehouse

NO DC Voting Rights

The Senate is debating the passage of a Bill that would Congressional voting rights to the District of Columbia. The District was created so that no one state would have too much influence over the Congress. The District is the exclusive province of the Congress and it is a federal city, it is our city, the nation's city. They have a voice through their Delegate and is able to vote in committee. It doesn't matter what Barbara Mukulski thinks. What matters is the Constitution of the United States of America. If you want to change the Constitution, than change the Constitution

Article I

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

Senator Tom Colburn has a solution to the "No taxation without representation chant." Get rid of the taxes, even though they receive more federal tax dollars per capita than any of the states.

Dick Durbin tells Burris to go Bye-Bye

The embattled Junior Senator from Illinois, a title Roland Burris reminded us all too often during Blago gate, is in the midst of his own scandal. He lied to the Illinois legislature when asked, prior to his Senate confirmation hearing, if he had been in contact with Blagoavich's handlers.

Jindal Criticizes Stimulus

Bobby Jindal: Daft or Daring?

Well, It's only 1 Billion Dollars!

According to the BBC, the Administration is preparing to donate $900 Million to efforts in Gaza. While this paltry sum is a drop in the bucket compared to the 'Obama Stimulus', it neverthless is a substainal sum. While humanitarian effforts are laudable, we need to scrutinize every penny we spend not just for our sake, but for posterity as well.

The United States of America is the greatest country ever conceived. That is not only a statement but a fact. Our nation is the greatest blessing bestowed upon mankind. The freedom we represent and transmit is perhaps the single greatest blessing any people have bestowed on humanity.

Liberty and the pursuit of its objectives are the most noble of pursuits. It is God’s will that we all are free to determine our own objectives as it is fitting to his will. No country has come as close to this ideal as has the USA.

Democracy and Liberty are the most noble and substantial contributions that the United States has made to the world. In fact, the United States of America is the greatest country to ever have existed.

While all countries have, inherently, contributed to global culture no country has had such a positive impact as the US. We must strive to uphold the values of democracy, regardless of cost. Freedom is an end of itself, one of worth death. We must treat it as a sparing commodity, always fleeting.

God bless the federal republic of The United States of America

“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries," Sir Winston Churchill.

The course of socialism has been a slow one first initiated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "New Deal." The only deal it provided America with was one of perpetual indebtedness at the hands of laws that can never be revoked.

The nature of the Rooseveltian programs are targeted at the middle class, the largest voting constituency, as such their repeatability is unlikely.

Entitlement programs that are given to the majority of the electorate are notoriously difficult to repeal. Who doesn't love "free money?"

The United States of America is capitalism's great hope. The philosophies of Adam Smith and John Locke are the bedrock of American society and entrepreneurial spirit, let us not for get their fundamental principles.

God Bless America
